Burns Night is on January 25th and commemorates Scotlands National Poet Robert Burns who was born on this date. We have been looking at a typical Burns Night Supper and the traditions surrounding it, such as flying the Scottish Flag, wearing Kilts and Tartan and enjoying readings and haggis. It will soon be soon be Chinese New Year. The celebrations begin on 31st January and this year is the Year Of The Horse. We have been looking at some of the traditions of Chinese New Year which include dinners, fireworks and Decorations. The decorations are mainly Red and consist of Lanterns, Chinese Flags and Bunting. There are parades in London on 2nd February and we love to know if you are going to any of these festivities and how you celebrate Chinese New Year.

Australia Day is on 26th January and is a Public Holiday in Australia. We have been talking about the history of Australia Day and how it is celebrated in Australia and by Australians in other countries. It is a time for family and friends to get together and fly the Australian Flag. People decorate their homes and businesses with Australian Bunting and Cutouts. As the new series of 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here' started last night that has been the talk of the office today. We are big fans of this series and gives us a good excuse to get out the Australian Decorations and Hats. We enjoy Ant and Decs humour while presenting and the reactions from the Celebrities while suffering the Bush Tucker trials. Please tell us if you will glued to watching this series.

It will be soon be Guy Fawkes Night. On 5th November there will be public firework displays and many parties at home. We have been looking at some of the history of Guy Fawkes and the fun now surrounding the event. There are different Firework Party Packs and Glow In The Dark and Flashing LED items which always add to the atmosphere. We would love to know how you are spending Guy Fawkes Night this year.
