Synopsis:

There is always a good atmosphere when there is a Royal Event and the celebrating 60 years since The Queens Coronation is no exception. With a service at Westminster Abbey and a festival in Buckingham Palace Gardens it will be time to get out the Union Jack Flags, Bunting and Decorations. We would love to know what Coronation Events you are taking part in and what your memories are of the Queens Coronation.

It is time to get out the Union Jack Flags and Bunting again. This week commemorates the 60th Anniversary of The Queens Coronation. The service took place on 2nd June 1953 at Westminster Abbey. Millions took to the streets in celebration, to see The Queen on the Balcony at Buckingham Palace and for Street Parties . The Coronation Ceremony was also broadcast live on T.V around the world for the first time. To celebrate this special event there is a service at Westminster Abbey on 4th June where The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh  among other Royals will be attending. Sixty years on the Decorations and Accessories from the crowds will be in greater abundance. As well as Hand Waving Flags there are likely to be Union Jack Flags , Ties and Glasses being worn as well as Hats and no doubt the Great Britain Umbrella Hat will be the perfect thing to wear! There will be a Coronation Festival 11th - 14th July in Buckingham Palace Gardens where there will be displays and stands showing The Best Of British which will include fashion, technology, Food and Drink. There will also be music and dance performances on selected evenings. I tried to get tickets to go but was too late.

Have you managed to get tickets? Are you taking part in any Coronation celebrations? We would love to know if you have any Coronation memories.
