Synopsis:

Armed Forces Day is on Saturday 27th June and shows support as well as raising awareness for the Armed Forces. There are many ways to show your support and we have been looking at ideas from attending parades to having an Armed Forces Day Themed Party or Street Party.  Putting up Union Jack Bunting and f lying Union Jack Flags also pays tribute to the Armed Forces as does dressing up in Army Costumes and Camouflage Accessories. We would love to know how you are spending Armed Forces Day.

Armed Forces Day is on Saturday 27th June. This is a time to show support and raise awareness for our Armed Forces which are made up of the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. This highlights the knowledge and understanding of the role that those serving in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces as well as by veterans make to the Country. There is always a National Event which this year is being held in Guildford. There will be a service at Guildford Cathedral, a parade, a military show, picnic and proms in the park and an air display. Fly the Union Jack or Support Our Troops Flag to honour the Armed Forces. Union Jack Hand Waving Flags are perfect to wave at a Parade and either Camouflage or Union Jack Bunting shows your support when put up outside your home or workplace.

Having your own Armed Forces Day Themed Party at home is a great way to get together with friends whilst increasing awareness of this important day. A Street Party is also a popular way to pay tribute to The Armed Forces. Serve typical British food such as cucumber finger sandwiches, scones and Victoria sponge cake on Union Jack Plates and arrange the tables with co-ordinating Union Jack Tablecovers and Centrepieces to complete the look. Decorations such as Union Jack Garlands and String Decorations set the scene for any Armed Forces Party as well as Party Packs which help making it easy to choose. Using Red, White and Blue Balloons add to the scenery and has a great effect when tied in bunches or attached singularly to chairs. Wearing Union Jack Bowlers or Warden Helmets adds to the fun of the celebrations and keeps the Armed Forces Theme going.

Will you be supporting Armed Forces Day? We would love to hear about how you will be spending your day.
